Undersköterskors upplevelser av god omvårdnad på en ortopedavdelning

Abstract (Summary)
In the daily care nurses and assistance nurses have a close working relationship. Previous studies often focus on what nurses and patients consider to be a good care. To be able to provide for patients needs it is important to find out what assistant nurses consider being good care. The purpose of this study was to describe assistant-nurses experiences of good care in an Orthopaedic clinic. A qualitative analysis method was chosen. The study comprises interwiews with seven assistant nurses in one hospital in the west of Sweden. The results of the analysis shows five main categories which contains seven assistant nurses descriptions of what they consider to be a good care, the categories are:Communication, Engagement, Treatment, Knowledge and Provide for ones needs. Most assistant nurses in the study considered communication and collaboration with the other nursing staff to be an important qualification for providing the patients good care.
