Gênero textual: o resumo como cultura em sala de aula

Abstract (Summary)
The present thesis shows the result of a research develop with undergraduated students of a Bilingual Executive Secretary course regarding the use of summaries as a studyingstrattegie. In order to do so, we use interpretative and qualitative research among eleven students. First of all, we present a theoretical background about summary as textual genre which aims to explain the central aspect of the thesis and clarifies some other points related to it, such as: the summary and its multiple faces; the summary and the paraphrasic discourse; the polissemic characteristic of a summary; summary and know ledge: the subject position. After the theory section, we discuss about the main point of the research wich is to understand the use of summaries as a studying strattegie, trying to perceive through student?s texts some aspects derived of the summary elaboration. In order to reach this goal, the researcher used a questionnaire with open questions, in which the central question was ?Do you use to make summaries?? From this question, it was developed an analysis on students discourse based on discourse analysis principles by Bakhtin. Such work revealsthat the use of summarize texts is derived among the academic individuals, not as a textual organization but in terms of selection. Also, the strattegies used by the students to summarize a text were the base for the aquisition and the comprehension of studied topics. Our research will contribute to the work of Education professionals concerning the production of textual genres- summary at school, not only as a specificity, but mainly as a dialogic perspective focusing the subject insertion (students) in new knowledge universes, in different disciplines and researching and studying fields
