Distribuição espaço-temporal dos candidatos à doação de sangue da Fundação Hemominas, Belo Horizonte-MG, nos anos de 1994 e 2004
The main goal of this study is to describe the spatial and time distribution of blood donation candidates, residents in the city of Belo Horizonte, who have arrived at Fundação Hemominas from 1994 to 2004. It also aims to compare these candidates in terms of age, sex, and clinical approval in space and space-time. Candidates were georeferenced using the residential address. The spatial analysis techniques employed were: L Function, difference between Ripley´s K functions, Kernel density maps, Moran Global index and thematic maps of the bayesian empiric rates and proportions. Data were collected in two different moments. Data were obtained from the 1994 study Aspectos sócio-econômicos, demográficos e culturais da doação de sangue em Minas Gerais (Socio-economic, demographic and cultural aspects of blood donation in Minas Gerais). Additional data was selected randomly between all the donation candidates arriving at Fundação Hemominas in Belo Horizonte in 2004. Results indicated that the spatial distribution of candidates was not random, according to the population spatial distribution. The Kernel Maps helped to detect points of higher or lower concentration of donation candidates and the thematic maps of rates and proportions describe the concentration of candidates, in relation to the resident population for the various categories analyzed.
