The prophylaxis of tick- transmitted bacterial diseases

The incidence of tick-transmitted diseases is increasing in Europe. During the last decade the number of Lyme borreliosis has increased five fold in Lithuania. Unfortunately other tick- transmitted bacterial diseases remain undiagnosed in our country. This article contains recommendations how to avoid tick bites’, tick removal techniques based on experimental evidence and chemoprophylaxis of tick-transmitted bacterial diseases.
