Abstract (Summary)
(Uncorrected OCR) CFSEI-2 Form A 1 Abstract Self-esteem is a major predictor of adjustment in adolescents. The Culture-Free Sclf-Esteem Inventory-Form A-2nd Edition (CFSEI-2 Form A) is one of the mosl widely used measures of self-esteem among the Hong Kong researchers and practitioners. The present study aims to: i) provide normative data on the CFSEI-2 Form A; ii) examine the inventory's psychometric properties; and iii) study its factor structure. This study provides norms standardized on a sample of 3771 Hong Kong Chinese adolescents. The results suggest that the CFSEI-2 Form A possesses satisfactory psychometric properties. The findings support a multi-dimensional construct of self-esteem and reveal that the inventory measures both self-evaluation and self-clarity, which contribute to global self-esteem and predict depressive mood.
