A (des)alienação na pedagogia do desenvolvimento de competências

Abstract (Summary)
Professional Qualification as Competence Development beyond the work market was the objective of present research. In order to attain said objective I tried to identify the liberatingcharacter of the competence development in Professional Education, having as a place for mentioned study the Faculty of SE NAC of Chapecó-SC, comprising the period ranging fromMay/2005 to June/2006. The study was based upon two basic qualification courses: waiter/waitress and sales. The choice of those groups was due to the fact that both groupswere seeking professional graduation in areas where 90% of the students were already active (they were salesmen or waiters/waitresses), having been working for a period of one to 23 years in mentioned professions. The source of the data was the curriculum of each one of the courses, the expectations of the students and the public attended to by those professionals seeking qualification. The categories of data analysis, from a qualitative perspective, followedsteps which encompassed the information of the two courses by cognitive categories, building tendency and more frequent events. Confronting the three sources the more frequent events show a different profile of the market than the one proposed by the documents of the institution: the public seeks a more human profile whereas the curriculum proposes a more technical one. That confrontation is built through a theoretical background of authors such as Freire (1979,1996, 2000), Frigotto (1974, 1984, 1998, 1999 e 2003) and Lauro Carlos Wittmann (2005), among others. While meeting the possibilities of (dis)alienation of the worker through a pedagogy able to develop competences, we bring about reflections on the importance of the triangle to know- to do ? to be, in the construction of competent subjects, revealing the importance of the curriculum, but enhancing the pedagogical practice, though not discussed in present study, as responsible for the process, for it is in that area that we are able to develop competences that go beyond the needs of the work market
