Sjuksköterskors medverkan vid livstilsförändringar bland kvinnor med hjärt och kärlsjukdomar
Abstract (Summary)
The purpose of this study was to examine how nurses can assist patients with heart and vessel
diseases to make lifestyle changes and to maintain these in their daily life.
The method was a descriptive literature review. Twenty articles found in both Pub Med and
Academic Search databases were included. Guidance, being supportive and to teach were the
three headlines and methods nurses use according to Orems theory about the caring system.
The information provided determined that being guided, being supported and being taught by
the nurse can help the patient to find a balance in their self-care and help them make the
lifestyle changes and health-conscious decisions that needs to be made in their everyday life.
Another conclusion was that teaching the patients families on how to support the patients
were just as helpful as teaching the patients themselves. The need of support was the key
essence of the whole examination.
