Satzgrenzenveränderung in Übersetzungen zwischen den Sprachen Englisch und Deutsch
Abstract (Summary)
Sometimes in translation, it is only by changes that transgress sentence borders that an appropriate target version can be achieved. These sentence-external structural changes have not been systematically studied so far. This thesis identifies information-structural and discourse-structural conditions that require sentence-external changes in translations between English and German. First the theoretical framework is presented. Then six examples are discussed. The central points are summed up in the end.
