This dissertation is linked to the group of pedagogical education methods and processes in use at the post-graduate Master´s Course in Education at the FURB, SC. It began with the difficulties demonstrated in the resolution of activities requested of adults and teenagers who attend the Nucleo Avançado de Ensino Supletivo (NAES), in Gaspar, SC. Was concerned mainly with the subject of English in High School. On the face of it, we feel the need to usedifferent pedagogical practices that feed the interest and the curiosity of these students and, at the same time, work towards facilitating understating of teaching at a distance activities. This motivated the development of specific software for the teaching of English. Carried out withthe objective of analyzing the understanding of English, by means of the software created as a support material, for the students in the High School of NAES-Gaspar, SC, who attend the referred subject, this case study employed a qualitative approach. Data was collected through group and individual interviews, questionnaires and observations. The study was developed in accordance with the following methodological procedures:) the choice of the students-focus of this research, in other words, a group for application of the software (Group A) and a group to verify the facilities and difficulties in carrying out book activities without the aid of thesoftware (Group B); b) the creation of software; c) the use of the software for the researcher; d) the use, for validation, of the software for another group of students (Group C). The results show that: the created software achieved its intended purposes by assisting teenagers and adults of NAES-Gaspar who attended English class during the period of the research in their distance learning activities in the acquisition of the English Language; none of the students who participated in the research dropped out and all concluded it in the specified period; the use of the software during the classes allowed to interaction between student/teacher and student/student and the use of the software in distance learning allowed interaction between student/relatives, making education at a distance cease to be solitary study
