Distribuição de elementos-traço em sedimentos superficiais do Rio Itajaí-Mirim em Santa Catarina

by Conceição, Gilberto

Abstract (Summary)
Extraction of sand, release of industrial and domestic efluentes are activities common antrópicas in Itajaí-Mirim River. In every area of the sub-basin of Itajaí-Mirim River it is verified the use and occupation of the soil in an inadequate way. Problems as the deforestation and the erosion of agricultural soils where pesticides are used, they are sceneries that dominate the landscape of certain areas. This work had as main objective the determination of the element-trace concentration in superficial sediments of Itajaí-Mirim River and channel rectifier from Itajaí-Mirim River in an attempt of evaluation of the impact of those element-trace about the environment. Collections of superficial sediments were accomplished in 20 different points from the channel rectifier and Itajaí-Mirim River. Determinations of the percentages of organic matter and the granulometria were made. The digestion of sediments was made with an apparel of microwaves by acid digestion and qualitative analyze and quantitative of the element-trace As, Cd, Pb, Cu, Cr, Hg, Ni, Se and Zn by espectrometria of atomic absorption with fire, hidretos generator and lead oven. The correlations of the element-trace concentration were made with the organic matter and the granulometria of the sediments. The analyses revealed that the element-trace Hg, Ni, Zn and Cu represent the most preoccupying cases in terms of environmental contamination of the superficial sediments with prominence for Hg and Ni.
