Abstract (Summary)
The action of the endodônticos instruments on the walls of the root canal has proportionate the formation of residues, also calls of residual layer, dentinária mud, dentinário adobe or to smear to layer, that, when not removed, they will be able to intervene with the apical selamento, when of the stage of the obturaton. The objective of this study is to evaluate in vitro the capacity of chemical substances auxiliary of the instrumentation (hipoclorito of sodium, EDTA, Endo-PTC) to remove the residual layer of apical thirds of the root canal. 60 human, extracted, divided teeth had been used unirradiculares in 6 groups of 10 teeth, where its canals they had been prepared with different substances, thus distributed: Group I - Endo-PTC/NaOCl 1%; Group II - NaOCl 1%; Group III - Endo-PTC/NaOCl 1%, final laudering with EDTA more NaOCl 1%; Group IV - NaOCl 1%, final laudering with EDTA more NaOCl 1%; Group V - EDTA more final laudering with NaOCl 1%; Group VI - EDTA and NaOCl used 1% alternatingly. To be analyzed, the raízes had been parted in the mésio-distal direction and were chosen the section of better visual quality in terço apical. The specimens then had been analyzed by the electronic microscopy of sweepings (MEV). The results had demonstrated that the groups where was used the EDTA, independently of the use sequence, had presented the best ones resulted, without statistical significant difference between itself, and that in the groups that had not used this fármaco the quality of the removal of the residual layer was engaged of significant form. Words keys: Residual layer, EDTA, Preparation of the canal.
