Abstract (Summary)
Bein enrolledon a Máster degree with the Ambient Education Graduate Program, from the Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG), involved in the research field of non-formal Ambient Education, I have proposed myself to a challenge at this moment of my life: have a master degree. Besides that, the biggest challenge was to fulfill my research, which had as main focus to investigate the dreams of the prisioners at the State Prison of Rio Grande (PERG). The dreams, found in this dissertation, are referred as dreamy images, meaning images of happiness, joy, freedom, hope. These dreams do not refer to asleep dreams, for the night, but they refer to awake dreams, for the day, in which people are the protagonistswho build up images according to their desires, feelings and emotions. Yet, as secondary focus, I reflect, in this text, the existence of certain principles of Ambient Education in therelationships among the prisoners. These principles are the ones of cooperation, community and solidarity. In this consists the prisoners? dream, adding to these institutional fellows, (again) meaning their images and utopian imagination. This work means to me not only a Graduate research. It had a changing and transforming function on my person. Every time I would go immerse into thesubject, I would go through the process of metamorphosis. Thus, I have the desire explaining this freedom processo f my soul, through the experience that I lived with the PERG prisoner women, during the researchactivity. As a scientific oint of reference, this work goes over the discussions on Ambient Education. Esthetic Education and the Dreamy Ecology. About the information research activity in itself, I could say it was marked in two moments: one, before the selction of the research project, in which I realized pilot-interviews with two PERG prisoners, with the of receiving selection, when the evaluation committee suggested that I participate deeper in the jail, thus giving more emphasis to the qualitative nature of the research, based on the principles of living research with action, where the researcher has a more frequent contact with the participants of the research itself. Thus, with the challenge presented, I went to PERG and, with the help of some employees, created a group of prisoner women, who were interested in discussing themes related to their lives. These themes generated from group discussions were chosen by the prisoner women themselves, meaning that I did not prepare our meetings with a predetermined activity, although I had an idea of what theywould like to work with, because on the interviews that took place with the prisoner I realized that the dream of the prisoners are fundamentally the going back home, living withtheir children e a good job, bringing personal satisfaction and enough earning to support their family. Lastly, with the accomplishment of this work I would like to soften for a newsocial environment, in which prejudice and exclusion be minimized and these people be accepted by the society, understanding them as human beings, with feelings, emotions and dreams.
