A cidade em movimento: a distribuição e o crescimento da atividade econômica no espaço urbano brasileiro no perÃodo de 1970 a 2002
Abstract (Summary)
The main goal of this study is to verify which variables are more like to be correlated with the localization of economic activity and economic growth in the brazilian cities. The work is divide in three parts. The aim of the first part is analyse the tendence of the population distribution among the brazilian territory between the years 1970 to 2000. The goal of the second part is to verify which regressors are more like to be correlated with economic growth in the cities of Brazil in a long term. In this case, the data sets corresponds to the years 1970 to 2002. Finally, the third part seeks to indicate the varibles that are correlated with the count GDP for the year 2000. The results suggests that the demography and educational regressors and the violence index are strongly correlated with economic growth and economic activity.
