Utveckling och formgivning av en framtida radio Development and design of a future radio
Abstract (Summary)
This report deals with a project that includes development and
design of a radio, in cooperation with the company Transient
Design. Transient Design has not previously manufactured radios,
only imported radios from Roberts Radio. The assignment was to
design a completely new radio and requirements, from Transient
Design, was among others, that it would radiate quality and
exclusiveness. The radio should not only be able to play radio
channels, but also be capable of handling other devices such as
MP3 player, Ipod and more.
To begin with, a pre-study was made, which included a market
survey, personas and functional analysis. Personas were
developed to specify the target group and a functional analysis
was the basis of the specification of requirements. Several
methods were used during the project such as brainstorming
method 6-3-5, evaluation method PNI, concept generation method
of morphological analysis, and finally matrix method evaluation.
By the various methods, many concepts are developed and
evaluated. Finally, in order to be able to select a concept to
proceed with, interviews were made with people inside and
outside the target group.
The project ultimately resulted in the radio Nautilus, a radio that
fulfilled the requirements and the desires that Transient Design
had, and pleased the target group that the company had chosen.

Rapporten är en del av examensarbetet inom ämnet integrerad
produktutveckling. Examensarbetet gjordes under våren 2009.
Arbetet innebar att utforma en radio, i samarbete med företaget
Transient Design.
