Un estudio sobre el papel de las definiciones y las demostraciones en cursos preuniversitarios de cálculos diferencial e integral
Abstract (Summary)
The main aims of this research activity are:
to characterise the transition period between teaching Mathematics at elemental level and teaching Mathematics at advanced level, and
to look for activities that help students to exploit and to take adventage of this period.
In relation to the first aim we identify some transition periods characteristics:
Institutional level: changes in the Didactic Contract and in the Didactic Transposition process
Cogntive level: changes in the relation between the student and the algorithms, the visual information an the encapsulation processes
Epistemological level: an increment in the importance of mathematical proofs and definitions in the classroom
In relation to the second aim and taking into account the characterisation mentioned before and previous experimental data, we design an interview centred in three visual proofs about approximation
