Uma jornada de humilhações
Abstract (Summary)
In this dissertation we seek to understand lhe meaning of humiliation in lhe speechabout health, iIIness and work and recognize lhe patient not only by lhe diagnosis, but algo by understanding lhe meaning constructed and maintained by lhe patientbased on lhe contradictions and conflicts of relations socially experienced. Our aimwas algo to know what were lhe expectations of lhe humiliated, concerning lhetrade union moverrient. Our philosophic reference is Espinosa and his ethical conception of feelings anddiseases of body as idea of lhe seul and lhe socio-historic theory of Vygotsky thatallowed us to construct methodologically lhe analysis of lhe discursive rhetoric oflhe subjects. We talked with 2072 workers (men and women) of 97 companies, and 42% of them declared to have gane trough situations of humiliation thatbecame more frequent after lhe fali of productivity. Our conclusion is that humiliation is pathogenic, is a risk for health and is related toauthoritarian relations of power, strengthening lhe inclusion trough exclusion. Inthis sense, lhe trade unions have an ethical responsibility: to understand lhesuffering of lhe other and create "new spaces" of "good meetings", as Espinosasays, where lhe workers can speak affectively trust and find new strength to fight
