The aim of this report is to design a management by objectives tool for self directed team based on Key Performance Indicators. While the process of implementing Key Performance Indicators in organisations is complex, this makes the task of designing the tool very interesting.The competition between companies in the same market today makes it necessary for companies to use performance measurement to survive. The car manufacturer within the motor industry has high expectations on their suppliers. The demands regarding quality, delivery accuracy and delivery time becomes higher and higher. DriveSol Dalstorps have decided to design a management by objectives tool to as on step on the way to live up to these demands.This thesis has been performed in different phases. First we did a study of the existing research regarding performance measurement. Next a study of the companies existing work with performance measurement was conducted. Finally the design of the management of objectives tool was worked out from the analysis of the companies Key Performance Indicators and the performance measurement system.While it’s the information from the performance measurement that shows the company its present status, the importance of a working performance measurement system is obvious. The performance measurement system must provide the company with the information that is needed to decide which measures to use. The measures need to reflect on the demands from different interested parties.The management of objectives tool is design to help the self directed team to plan and improve the production. Also it’s supposed to help the team to evaluate implemented improvements. The self directed teams consist of employees from different departments within the company, such a qualityresponible a coordinator and a maintenance technician. Their task is to plan and improve a small part of the value chain.The management of objectives tool is based on the companies chosen Key Performance Indicators parameters.
