Abstract (Summary)
The purpose ofthis study was to conduct an analysis manager's perception of the impact of utilizing The Council on Quality and Leadership's (CQL) twentyone Person Outcome Measures " (POMTM) in services provided to people with developmental disabilities, also to identify training opportunities for the managers, as they relate to the Personal Outcomes MeasuresTM. The literature review on this subject looked at the history of The Council on Quality and Leadership and the development of the Personal Outcome Measures. The data collected reveals benefits gained from the application of the Person Outcome Measures " with potential opportunities for training the iii managers to better understand the many elements ofthe Personal Outcome Measures'P'. Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services, Inc. (BLHS) has been on a seven year journey of quality improvement based on the use ofthe Personal Outcome Measures'Y. Although this research involves only managers the goal of the organization is to involve all individuals served, employees, families, and other stakeholders in this effort. Another goal ofBLHS is to start collecting data regarding each of the twenty-one POMTM. Each person supported will have a POMTM interview and the results of those interviews will be compiled in a POMTM data base.
