This research deals with feminine representation in animated cartoons, based on mediaand gender studies, and using the tools provided by Critical Discourse Analysis. This workstarts with a report of a young child, who noticed some particular stigmas in cartoonscharacters. The emphasis is on the cultural transmission of androcentric and patriarchalparameters through the symbolic constructions of cartoon bodies and accessories. The corpusincludes two episodes of Wonder Woman and Powerpuff Girls, popular cartoons in Brazil andworldwide. Through the analysis of both visual and spoken discourse, we expose hownaturalized conceptions of women are established in language, and how feminine identitiesare perpetuated in and by animated media
