This master s thesis considers a production planning and control systemproposed to the vaccine plant of Bio-Manguinhos, a public foundation with themission of contributing to the improvement of public health standards, throughtechnological research and the production of immunobiologicals. Bio-Manguinhoshas grown significantly in last five years, and now requires adjustments in itsplanning process and its production management. The proposal presented in thisthesis is composed of a hybrid model of production planning, composed of a moduleof MRPII, that addresses the planning of materials and other resources requirementsand a fine capacity scheduler production that sets priorities among orders andsupports optimization of resources. The expectation generated by the project is toenable Bio-Manguinhos to improve customer service and to qualify the company as amajor vaccine producer.
