O PAPEL DO TEXTO NA CONSTRUÇÃO DO CONHECIMENTO NAUNIVERSIDADE - UMA REFLEXÃO SOBRE A CULTURA DE SALA DE AULA E O USO DA LINGUAGEM NA CONSTRUÇÃO DO CONHECIMENTO
Abstract (Summary)
The purpose of this research is to reflect on and to investigate the role of theoral and written texts in the construction of knowledge and in the development ofprofessional competence in the University classroom. For this objective 39university instructors and 80 students of the Catholic University of Pelotas weresurveyed. The subjects answered 20 item questionnaire on the use of oral andwritten texts (reception and production) in classroom activities. Teachers andstudents who participated in the study belong to different areas of the Humanities,Biological Sciences and Engineering. The results of the questionnaires areanalyzed in a qualitative paradigm and they show that the university classroom isstill a place of the monologue, the conversational interactions are seldom used andtext production is basically an evaluative activity. The study presents pedagogicalsuggestions on how texts can be used to make the university classroom a sharingand interactional environment
