Abstract (Summary)
Entrepreneurship has been of major value, in view of the huge changes that have bee n taking place around the world, mainly regarding work relations and shortage of formal work places. Therefore, the preparation of entrepreneurs has become a very important issue, being the Educational Institutions greatly responsible for helping students find a place on the market, along with the development of said new professionals. Following that trend of thought, through a qualitative documental exploratory research, we sought to study the post-graduation Business Administration courses in Brazil, that have master and doctorate programsrecognized by CAPES (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - Coordination and Improvement of Higher Education Personnel), totaling 16 Higher EducationInstitutions. So, this sample was intentional, of convenience, according to the main target of this research. This was a cross study, the period was October 2006. We have studiedentrepreneurship courses in foreign countries and Brazil, for our theoretical background. As our specific goals, we identified the programs having research lines, entrepreneurshipconcentration areas, along with entrepreneurship disciplines in their curricular structure. Following that procedure, we compared the ementa and the number of hours, togheter withthe analysis of bibliography recommended in the entrepreneurship discipline teaching programs, regarding the authors´names, title and subtitle of the works, the kind ofbibliographic source and publishing dates as well. The results obtained display a tendency to the insertion of entrepreneurship disciplines in the studied programs, besides a considerable increase in the number of hours for the disciplines offered. Nevrtheless, that tendency is notmaterialized regarding the insertion of concentration areas and research lines linked to the theme. Another relevant aspect in those programs is that only in three of thementrepreneurship is a mandatory discipline, being optional in the rest. FURB (Universidade Regional de Blumenau) considers that discipline as mandatory. As far as scientific productionalong the years is concerned, after analyzing bibliographic references, we acknowledged that the nineties was the most productive decade, in terms of works of entrepreneurship published. Notwithstanding, the analyses of national and international events showed that the interest in the study of entrepreneurship has not increased along time, being the year of 2005 the most productive, concerning events related to the theme. According to the exposed above, presentstudy aims at increasingly and systematically emphasize the importance and need for more thorough studies linked to the entrepreneurship area, principally corroborated by the literature revision researched in Brazil and in the world, considering that the educational institutions are in their vast majority responsible for preparing millions of youths seeking better opportunities on the competitive work market
