MILITARY PERIODICALS IN THE ANDRE SAVINE COLLECTION: A BIBLIOGRAPHIC DESCRIPTION
The goal of this paper is to create a bibliographic description of the military periodicals located in the André Savine Collection of the UNC-CH's Academic Affairs Library. The Savine Collection is a recent acquisition, purchased directly from Savine's family, and any kind of bibliographic data concerning the items it contains either have not been established or are to be found in other sources. Therefore this paper is a first attempt to establish a bibliographic description of a sizable section of the collection. The military periodicals treated herein were published in the twentieth century outside of the Soviet Union by various organizations of former Russian White Army cadres living in exile. The methodology employed to this purpose involved searching and obtaining data from a variety of relevant bibliographic sources (several American and Russian catalogs) and then confronting them with the original items in the Savine Collection.
