Mapeamento e caracterização da cobertura vegetal e uso da terra de uma área do Parque Estadual da Serra do Tabuleiro (Baixada do Massiambu, município de Palhoça, SC)

A place called "Baixada do Massiambu", located on Palhoça distrit (Santa Catarina state) have a highly variations of environments, whith a herbaceal, shrubby and arboreal natural vegetations. Besides been in a full protect park (Serra do Tabuleiro State Park - PEST), the region is target of many anthropics disturbances and impacts, componsing a mosaic of vegetations types in secondary succession (arboreal and shrubby vegetation of coastal sand-dunes) and primary succession (herbaceal vegetation of coastal sand-dunes). The objective of the present work was to make the description an mapping, on 1:50.000 scale, of the vegetations types and their current succession stages on "Baixada do Massiambu", using Geographic Information System (GIS). It was mapped and described twelve vegetation formations: marsh with Cladium mariscus, rupestrial vegetation, herbaceous of internal dunes, peat, shrubby and arboreal coastal sandy vegetation in the initial, medium and advanced stages of regeneration, dense ombrophilous forest in medium stage of regeneration and mangrove, using indicators physiognomy, relief and floristic composition.
