Abstract (Summary)
The paper 'Management in medium-sized enterprises in Japan: research results and case studies' deals with questions of principles, organisation, management and personell management in Japanese firms. The results of the research are demonstrated and discussed in a case study on a Japanese venture business. One result of this paper is that management - the organisation of the firm“s structure or the development of management, for example - varies within the individual types of enterprises. One reason for this can be found in the style of management, moving between the figure of the 'patriarch' and the 'cooperative leader'.
