I have studied and investigated some of the problems that occur when companys want to reduce their inventories. My work is concentrated on companies that manufacture and purchase against inventory. I have investigated those problems that occurs in the litterature and then compared some of them with a casestudie at a company, which correspond to the above discription. There is a lot of different inventories so I have concentrate on what possibilities there is to reduce the inventory for finished goods. The first five chapters gives a background and a discription of the problems that are involved in keeping inventories and they gave me the problems that i have concentrated on and formulate in chapter 6.
