Kommunikation mellan offentlig och privat sektor : En studie mellan Mariestads kommun och dess företag
Abstract (Summary)The purpose off this thesis is to improve the communication between the local authority of Mariestad and the companies in the community to be able to improve the business climate in Mariestad municipality. To achieve this purpose two research questions have been examined. Which Channels are used when the local authority communicates with the companies in the community and how does the communication function between the local authority and the companies. An interview was done. The interview was one part of the foundation to the survey that was done which was sent to 211 stock corporations in Mariestad community. In the survey the companies were divided in different groups according to size.The results from the survey showed that the communication channels which are used in the communication between the local authority of Mariestad and the companies in the community are the local newspaper, letters, information meetings, telephone, mail, the local authority’s homepage and personal visits.It showed that the communication between the local authority and the companies was of significant importance for the business climate. The companies thought that the local authorities contribution to the business climate were not so big. The local authority had not succeeded to a large part to catch the companies’ interests and attention.The communication channel that the companies wanted the most was personal contacts (visits).The companies thought that personal visits were the channel that was used most seldom off all channels. Big companies and middle-sized companies thought that personal visits were the channel that functioned worst off all channels. The channel which big size companies and middle size companies’ thought functioned best today was the local newspaper. No matter which communications channel used, middle-sized companies thought that communication functioned best today of all company seizes.
