Interdisciplinarity and environment: ways that if cross.
The need to make content with scientific school of meaning, and to discuss the role of environmental education in contemporary society, has become the most importantissue in the educational scene in recent decades. The study, conducted in the period 2006 - 2007, aimed to examine, in a context multirreferencial, the concepts of basicleveleducators about the environmental issues from the perspective of interdisciplinarity. The study was carried out in two (2) Colleges of elementary school, and one (1) the network of public education and one (1) the network of privateschools both located in the municipality of Rio de Janeiro (RJ). A total of 29 teachers of local surveyed participated in the study. In this study, has been chosen empirical research with a qualitative approach, taking as a tool for data collection implementing a questionnaire to questions sealed in order to identify the profile of the public studied, and open interview that aimed to identify the perception of educators in thecontext of the interdisciplinary environment. The results were analyzed beneath the multirreferencialidade in environment context, looking for identifying many ways forunderstanding the reality that was studied. This research is justified by the delayed practice of interdisciplinary and environmental education in relation to the school andthe demands arising from technical progress - scientific. The data of the survey indicated that the interdisciplinary approach provides a broader approach of curriculum content, enriching the knowledge and breaking with the idea of knowledgeunits, divided and fragmented today as this. It encourages interpersonal relations and allows exchanges in various approaches, allowing the creation of new ways ofthinking about the world, through the linking of content studied by students in school with everyday life and the practice of them. However the research indicated the need for greater discussion about the interdisciplinary and environmental issues in the education process.
