Interdisciplinar biology: evaluation of the multimedia material as facilitador of the interdisciplinar process of teach-learning.
Interdisciplinarity has resurged from the necessity of a global vision of the reality and from the difference between the present work market and that of 10, 20, 30 years ago. Therefore, it was created in the last years a demand for new forms of teaching and evaluation, which consider the capacity of solving interdisdisciplinary problems, and professors also updated on the context of other disciplines that prepare the student for real and adverse situations. In virtue of this demand, this dissertation has as it main purpose to evaluatethe concept of interdisciplinarity from different perspectives involving educators (Teachers of Chemistry and Biology from the second grade), students (students from second grade), formal evaluations (Qualification exam the from UniversidadeEstadual do Rio de Janeiro-UERJ) and didactic materials (Second grade Biology didactic books). Based on these analyses, we also aimed to create and evaluate an interdisciplinary multimedia paradidactical material about Proteins that allows ahigher comprehension of this theme, and the interaction of close disciplines, Biology and Chemistry. Our results show that teachers of Chemistry and Biology present difficult in dealing with interdisciplinary processes due to lack of support from the institutions or the absence of supporting materials as didactical books. The students also present difficulty in identifying interdisciplinary process and apparently in solving questions of interdisciplinary character present in evaluations. However when it is presented a multimedia material about Proteins, which may be used in an interdisciplinary way by the disciplines Biology and Chemistry, there was a significative acceptance degree by both parts as well as an improvement of the students? performance in solving questions known as interdisciplinary These results indicated the success of the use of the multimedia material in the learning and teaching process and pointed to the importance in the investment in this type of material.
