Interacciones en un entorno virtual de aprendizaje para la formación continua de docentes de enseñanza básica, Las
SUMMARY: The study of educational online interactions is a research area that has developed over the last years with the objective of knowing about the kind of interactions produced in discussion forums. This investigation undertakes a concrete experience, of teacher trainning in a virtual learning environment. The training experience was centered in Geometry related topics and was addressed to Chilean teachers from Second level in Primary (5th to 8th grade). This is an exploratory and descriptive investigation that analizes, by means of qualitative and quantitative methodologies, the virtual learning space in its entirety: the course, the platform, the role of the tutor and his interventions together with the ones of the participants in the discussion forum, analizing the content of the interventions, to whom they are directed and the colaborative or personal nature of such interventions. To analyze the interactions, a categorization scheme was built, using a deductive and inductive method. The categories of analysis and the categorization were validated by experts, the messages and the thematic units were used as units of analysis, and for the reliability, a percentage agreement by consensus from experts was considered. The results show that there is a positive appraisal of the course and of the role of the tutor; the platform should provide differentiated spaces for the different interventions, which contributes to increase and organize interaction: the tutor´s interventions focused on promoting interaction by encouraging the participants to share information; the interventions of the participants are mostly done in terms of theory and practice; most of the interventions by the participants are done in a context of interaction with the tutor or with the group, though they center around the tutor; the interventions by the participants are mainly personal, although gradually they become more collaborative. The information obtained can be useful for further research that looks for the development of virtual formative experiences that promote the interaction among the participants. Providing elements to be considered in the design, with the purpose of favoring the educational interactions in these new formative settings.
