Abstract

Health Communication is becoming very important. In such a particular
context, it is crucial to acquire specific skills and knowledge that have to be
delivered to reference targets. We could divide receivers in many groups,
each one characterized by a different level of interest for the delivered
informations and by a different kind of relationship with the health
specialists. Communication tools are fundamental in order to implement
communication itself. The scope of this work is to give a quite complete
analysis of tools and contexts characterizing health communication. Beside
this, the work tries to show how such tools are used in reality, describing
real case studies. The analysis starts from communication tools such as
flyer, manifest and brochure. The second section analyses problems and
perspectives concerning scientific dissemination. The third chapter is
focused on the role the web currently represents in people health decisions.
In the forth chapter there is a description about structure and guidelines a
health communication plan should follow. The work is then focused on the
analysis of a real case study concerning the communication plan from ASL
Benevento 1. The fifth chapter analyses communication in hospitals with
particular attention to waiting periods. Sixth chapter is about delicate
aspects such as ethics that should characterize the medical profession and
informed consent. In this section, there is an introduction to verbal and nonverbal
communication in the doctor-patient relationship context. The
seventh chapter focuses on non-profit associations. The last section concerns
social marketing and marketing strategies for prevention and health
promotion.
