IT som ett stöd för funktionshindrade : en studie av hjälpmedelsanpassning

How can computers and technical aids facilitate when you are disabled? We focused on the user and its environment to enlighten how IT from a user’s point of view is adjusted to him. The questions we want to answer are: what problems/difficulties may the patient have, will you reach what is expected with the aids, how well are the environment and their aids adjusted to their situation, how is the adjustment of the equipment and are there any followups? We want to show how the process concerning the aids is regarding the patient and we have done/made a qualitative study including interviews such well as observations to reach an understanding about the situation of the disabled person. We met two respondent and also persons in their surroundings. We found some lacks in the process concerning the aids after we analysed the results. One of the respondents had some difficulties with the ergonomical environment where the computer was installed. It would have been better if some kind of evaluation of the physical environment had been done before the computer was installed. What we also thought was less good was the fact that no follow-up was made whether the patient needs had changed. It would also been a good idea to include patients who are disabled in the evaluation groups of the aids to reach the best result as possible. _______________________________________________________________________ ii ___________________________________________________________________________ Förord Tidigare har vi läst kursen HCI på Högskolan i Uddevalla och den var både rolig och intressant sett ur flera aspekter. I den kursen gjorde vi ett mindre arbete som gick ut på att undersöka hur viss design såg ut för dem som är funktionshindrade. Vi hade som uppgift att titta på hur bankomater är utformade. Något lärde vi oss av kursen eftersom man senare noga tittar på hur de verkligen är designade. Eftersom vi alla tre också är intresserade av systemering så var kursen en bonus för oss eftersom mycket av det ingår i HCI. Under en senare kurs, Informatik, Teori och Forskningsmetodik, fick vi i uppgift att studera ett antal vetenskapliga artiklar och då växte intresset ytterligare för att undersöka hur det ser ut för personer som av någon fysisk anledning inte på vanligt sätt kan använda sig av datorer som kommunikationsmedel. _______________________________________________________________________ iii ___________________________________________________________________________ Innehållsförteckning
