(Uncorrected OCR) Speed drilling in improving reading of dyslexic children 4 ABSTRACT This research investigated the effectiveness of reading speed drilling in improving the reading performance of dyslexic children. Eighty-six Chinese dyslexic children were divided into two groups according to their ability of rapid digit naming. They received speed drilling in reading and recognizing Chinese words through finishing vS at home the computer games from a CD-ROM within two monthsperiod. The^ results showed that speed drilling on word reading and word recognition was effective in enhancing word reading fluency of dyslexic children regardless of their initial rapid digit naming ability.
