Enabling design in frontier contexts a contextual needs assessment method with humanitarian applications /
Abstract (Summary)
Occupational therapists often work to integrate children with disabilities into normal
classroom activities. Gym activities that involve ball-throwing games pose a difficult
challenge for children with mobility impairments. A mobile, switch-activated ball
thrower has been designed and prototyped to facilitate the inclusion of children with
mobility impairments into ball throwing activities. The device is adaptable to a variety of
games, easy to use, and economical to reproduce.
