El uso de TIC, ?herramienta útil o sobreestimada? : Un estudio desde el punto de vista del profesor de español

by Wilkins Rivera, Ariana

Abstract (Summary)
The object of this paper is to study how educators apply technology during the teaching of Spanish in Swedish schools in high school and the later years in junior high school in Blekinge and Skåne, and how they incorporate IT into their teaching tasks. Which problems can teachers encounter when utilizing IT and which factors may impede the use of IT when teaching and how is IT actually used currently? The current paradigm in education requires the adaptation of technology into teaching to prepare students for their future. This is stated in the national educational curriculum (Lpf 94), however, how do Spanish teachers incorporate visual aids into the classroom? This study´s methodology will be observational and based on qualitative analysis combined with the aid of empiric tools, such as survey. This study derives from cognitive psychology ideology. The limitation in this work is mainly due to the low number of participants. Currently there is demand for Spanish teachers in Sweden, hence reducing the number of surveyed participants. One of the aims of this paper is to have understanding for the current working conditions of the teachers and the need for rethinking the current educational system, as well as, an attempt to explain the attitudes of the teachers towards technology and the obstacles of the implementation. Technology is an important part of our society. Are teachers and teaching institutions up-to-date and up-to-speed with the requirements in the curriculum? The informants in this study have enlightened some of the reflections about this theme. Key words IT, paradigm, cognitive psychology, pragmatism, Lpf 94 2 ÍNDICE 1.
