Dynamics of circular footing on elastic foundation

Abstract (Summary)
A two-parameter elastic foundation is more accurate than a one-parameter (Winkler) foundation. In this paper a circular plate resting on a single layer elastic foundation is analyzed by using Vlasov's two parameter elastic foundation model to determine its natural frequencies under an axisymmetrical loading condition. This model is used to study the effects of various foundation parameters on the natural frequencies of the plate foundation system by the application of Bessel functions and modified wave equations.
