One of the complex clinical procedure on implant therapy is to install angled abutments. In order to simplify such procedure an appliance was developed by Dental Implant Research and Study Center - CEPID in Federal University of Santa Catarina - UFSC. The aim of this article was to assess the performance of this new device at installing pre-manufactured angled abutments. Two methods of angled abutment placement were tested in mannequin through time control by 40 experienced professionals. Among all the prosthetic components available, the angled abutment is the most difficult to be installed The angled abutment placement time with the appliance is 56.1% of that time necessary to realize this procedure by the conventional method. The appliance did facilitate and reduce angled abutment placement time.
