Discontinuous Systems Analysis: an Interdisciplinary Analysis Tool
Abstract (Summary)The field of discontinuous mechanical systems in widely unexplored and lacks the definition and tools which accompany continuous mechanical systems. Designing and compiling a successful set of tools, or engineering toolkit requires the study of a number of areas, including user interface design and human computer interactions (HCI). This thesis presents the design, implementation and usability study of an interdisciplinary tool, for the aide and benefit of analysing discontinuous systems in mechanical engineering. The structure of the underlying framework, the design decisions, the design rational, and a comparison of multi-platform frameworks are also included.
