Abstract (Summary)
DIFERENTES MUJERES PARA DIFERENTES ENTORNOS: VOZ Y ROL
FEMENINO EN 7 RELATOS SOBRE EL AMOR Y LA GUERRA DE
ROSARIO AGUILAR
By Pamela M. Chumpitaz-Furlan
Based on the preponderance of historical facts that have mainly men as
protagonists, this study seeks to recover the voice of women and their role in relation to
the History of Nicaragua, specifically during the sandinista Revolution of 1979. From the
novel by Rosario Aguilar, we will analyze and interpret each woman’s story and establish
a relationship between the women and each participating organization during and after
the strike of the sandinista Revolution. We will also determine how Aguilar tries to
overcome the typical perceptions of women, giving them independence of action and
thought in relation to topics such as love, maternity, compromise with their nation and
with their own identity. For Aguilar, the success of women relies in the understanding of
their surroundings and recognition of their abilities to deal effectively with her life and
accomplish her purposes.
