Desempenho Escolar em Pernambuco: Análise dos Itens e das Habilidades usando Teoria Clássica e TRI
Abstract (Summary)
Since 1980?s, the Item Response theory (IRT) has been very important subject among measurement experts due to applications in several fields including education. In this work, an introduction of that theory is presented and applied to item analysis in high school exams. Using IRT, hability estimates were obtained from 2005 SAEPE data analysis of Portuguese and Mathematics exams applied to third grade high school students in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil. Data analysis results show on average, that habilities in Portuguese and Mathematics disciplines are different according to student sex and residence location. It was also revealed that 38% of Portuguese exam items and 80% of Mathematics exam items were quite difficult
