Brister och förtjänster i lärarutbildningen : en fallstudie av fyra verksamma lärares syn på sin utbildning
Abstract (Summary)The purpose of this paper is to examine how a few teachers who recently finished their teacher education consider the education has helped them in their first meeting with their new job. The study is based on interviews with four teachers.The results show that the critics against the teacher education according to the interviewed teachers are mainly about the practical training, the lack of current research results and the connection between theory and practical training. Several of the teachers stress that the education must demand more of the students. Finally the interviewed teachers say that the meeting with pupils is something they seldom have been training before they started to work. The interviewed teachers believe that the good side of the education is the didactics. The complexity of the profession is something the teacher education can help the students understand, so is also the skill to read and understand the syllabus for different subjects.
