Association between glycemic control and amniotic fluid index in pregnancies complicated by diabetes mellitus
Abstract (Summary)
To examine the association between glycemic control and amniotic fluid volume sixty pregnancies with pre-existing diabetes were examined. Amniotic fluid index (AFI) was evaluated weekly after 27 weeks of gestation and self-monitoring blood glucose levels (expressed as mean blood glucose levels and percentage of abnormal values) were recorded the week before ultrasound examination. Six hundred fifty nine examinations were recorded and analysed by graphs and Spearman correlation test. There was no significant association between AFI and glycemic control
